1. A six-player varsity team - top five scorers shall represent
each school.
2. Nine holes shall determine all league matches when played on
school day.
3. All matches will start at 3:30 PM unless the participating
schools make prior agreements.
4. Scoring will be determined by the total
strokes for each player in the nine hole round.
The winning school will be determined by the sum of the lowest five
scores from the six person team. The JV
match (when possible) will be determined by pooling the scores of the number
7-12. The team score will be the sum of
the lowest five scores from this pool.
5. In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by
the score of the sixth players score. If
still tied the #1’s tee off and play sudden death.
6. The home
team shall make the decision on cancellations due to poor weather. The decision should be made no later than
1:00 PM the day of the match. Should
there be a cancellation, the match will be made up on
the first open date available for each team.
7. Under
hazardous playing conditions, the coaches are responsible for stopping play
until such time as the weather improves.
If it is not possible to continue play, the match will be rescheduled
for the first open date available for each team.
8. Penalties: There
will be a two stroke penalty for throwing clubs, swearing and/or
unsportsmanlike conduct. Should a second
offense occur, the individual will be automatically disqualified from the match.
9. No caddies will be permitted. It is permissible for a player to pull
his/her own cart.
10. Galleries: Galleries
are permitted with the prior approval of the Club Pro. However, all spectators must remain 25 yards
away from the players and off the fairways.
There is to be no communication during the match. All players and spectators must adhere to
course dress codes.
11. Coaches
may not coach during a match. Therefore,
they may not call penalties or disqualify players during a match. They may not instruct their players during or
immediately after a match to report a specific incident or penalty strokes, or
disqualification. However, coaches may
be on the course for supervision purposes.

The following rules are listed to clarify the special
rules used during all league matches:
a. Tee
off in the designated area.
b. You
will be allowed to mark your ball, lift clean and place within six inches no nearer
the hole (except in a hazard or on the green).
This rule applies through the green unless your ball lies within one
club length of an unmarked tree or out of bounds.
c.
Other special “local rules” shall be explained prior to the match by the
host coach.
13. District Championships
League Champion will be team
that wins day one.
Score five of six, if tied
sixth place will break the tie.
District Champion will be
determined on day two and scored as it is at state for a 40 entry tournament.
Scoring – 40-entry Tournament –
1st
place 30 team points;
2nd
place 25 team points;
3rd –
20 team points;
4th -
18 team points;
5th -
16 team points;
Then
each descending place receives one less point. For instance,
13th place - 8 points, 20th place and ties - one point.
Only those qualifying for the second round of play will be eligible for points.
Ties
will be resolved by sharing the points in the places affected. For instance, if
there is a three-way tie for second, each player would receive 41 points (1/3
of 45 + 40 + 38). Next place would be 5th.
Will be a two day
tournament, 18 holes each day
Participants may self cut
after the first 9 holes
Entry into day two will be:
Boys: one half the number of participants plus any golfer within 5 strokes of the
last player in the top half.
Girls: one half the number of participants plus any golfer within 10 strokes of
the last player in the top half.
For the boys - All ties
after 6th place will be played off, so as to give a state order for
the spring tournament in the 1st year of a new allocation cycle. The second year, only those places necessary
will be played off.
Walking scorers will be
used. Every attempt will be made to have
a scorer for each group.
If not enough scorers are
available, coaches will be used.
If still not
enough for each group the coaches will determine which groups will not have a
scorer.
Course will determine
whether to use Winter or Summer Rules
Location for the tournament will
be determined by the Athletic Directors
Coaching
Rule - Each team may appoint one (1) person (coach) who may give advice to members
of that team. Such a person shall be identified to the Rules committee before any
team member begins play. This person may give advice only to their players
after a player has completed a hole and the player has left the putting green
and until the player tees off at the next hole. The coach can not cause a
player to unduly delay play
