SWW1A  Football SOP’s

 

 

1.                  All WIAA Football regulations will apply.  57.0.0

2.                  The league schedule shall be adopted at the November meeting for the subsequent year

3.                  The home team will wear dark jerseys and the visitors’ light or contrasting jerseys, unless other arrangements between the schools are made.

4.                  League games shall be officiated by registered officials.  Four officials will be used for varsity games and no less than 2 for JV and /or C games.

5.                  There will be no tie games in varsity league play.  Ties will be broken by the WIAA approved tie-breaker.  The Kansas tie-breaker is rule 57.6.1 in the WIAA handbook. 

6.                  Space for two coaches will be provided for both teams in the press box.  Video scouts will not be allowed in the press area.  The use of phones is the responsibility of each team.  If one team’s phones become faulty, the other team does not forfeit the use of phones.

7.                  Locker room areas will be available by 5:00 PM.  A dressing area will be available for JV and C games.

8.                  Visiting schools are responsible for leaving the locker room in good condition.  They are responsible for the damage to any equipment or facilities.

9.                  A doctor or emergency aid vehicle should be on the premises for all varsity contests.

10.              Only properly identified coaches, managers, team personnel and players in uniform are allowed on the sidelines.

11.              Each player’s jersey number should be identical for home and away whenever possible.  Jersey numbers should comply with national federation rules.

12.              Rosters shall be made available to each member school.  The roster should include:

a.       Number, name, weight, offensive and defensive position and grade

b.      Name of coaches, athletic director, and principal

c.       Cheerleaders and advisor

d.      Roster listed in numerical order

13.              Junior Varsity teams will compete on the Monday following the varsity contest at the opposite site with the exception of the last game.

14.              A regulation football shall be used according to state WIAA guidelines.  The team on offense may choose to play with their regulation football.

15.              Varsity games will begin at 7:00 PM; JV and C games start at 6:00 PM unless both schools mutually agree to a different time.  Extended halftime should be pre-arranged with both schools and officials.

16.              A Kansas tie-breaker will be used when three or more teams are tied, and head to head competition also results in a tie.  A team must lose twice to be eliminated.  The format is attached.

17.              An All-League meeting will be held at the end of the season.  Schools need to make sure their representative is aware of and at the meeting.
